Receipt of the registration will be confirmed by return email. \n\n\n\nThose entries without prior submission of the registration dated before the closing date of the National\, may bring a copy with them to pick up their armband. \n\n\n\nRing stewards will not ‘police’ any entry before\, during or following sweepstakes. Any protests will be directed to the armband table to talk with a board member (judging will not be delayed due to protests). \n\n\n\nIf a handler who is not eligible handles a dog that wins a placement\, that placement will be rescinded.

Lappin DVM\n\n\n\nDr. Mike Lappin\, DVM was born and raised in Michigan where his family always had dogs.  One of his favorites was “Fred\,” a Beagle that he and his brother taught to bark\, earning the ire of his mother. He graduated from Parchment High School in 1966\, and continued on to Michigan State University\, where he graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1972. He moved to Massachusetts to begin his professional career at the Kingston Animal Hospital. Dr Lappin opened his own practice in 1992 in Buzzards Bay\, MA. After a name change in 1992\, “The Animal House” came into being. \n\n\n\nDr Lappin became  involved in dog training through his veterinary practice and began training his own Golden Retrievers in the early 1990’s.  He and his first Golden Retriever\, “Tess\,” discovered Agility in the mid 90’s and began competing shortly after.  Tess retired at the age of 12 years.  He is currently training and showing his 4th and 5th Golden Retrievers\, “Scarlett” and “Costello” in Agility\, Obedience\, and Rally Obedience.  Mike and his past and current “kids” have achieved numerous obedience and agility titles. \n\n\n\nA member of Yankee Golden Retriever Club\, he is on the Board of Directors and has served as their Obedience Committee chair.  He is also a member of the Golden Retriever Club of America. He has served as the Vice President of the Golden Retriever Foundation.  Dr. Lappin continues serving the Foundation as their DNA collection officer.  He has been instrumental in the Foundation’s efforts to collect DNA from Golden Retrievers to be used for health research.  With his efforts there have been over 2000 samples banked at the OFA-CHIC DNA bank\, more than any other breed of dog. Dr. Lappin also became an American Kennel Club judge of agility\, and rally obedience in 2004 to round out his “giving back to the sport” philosophy. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nemail DNA clinic

Dinner includes a commemorative glass. \n\n\n\nReservations should be made prior to September 17\, 2026 – there is no limit to reservations. SUMMARY:Parade of Titleholders
DESCRIPTION:The Parade of Titleholders will be held in conjunction with the Welcome Dinner in the Exhibition Building at Island Grove. Groups will start to line up at 7:30 pm\, parade will start at 8 pm. \n\n\n\nEntries close early (August 3\, 2026) or when entry limit of 100 is reached. \n\n\n\nInclude with your entry a brief (50 words or less) biography about your dog and a photo of your dog (JPEG or PDF format). Because the Parade is not an AKC event\, non-AKC titles and achievements may be included in this write-up. The Committee reserves the right to edit submitted material to 50 words. Entries are limited to a MAXIMUM OF 100. Entries will be accepted on a first-received basis. A waiting list will be established in case of cancellations prior to August 3\, 2026. Entrants will be honored with a beautiful rosette and souvenir of the 2026 National. For more information\, contact Jenny Ford. Entry Fee is $43.00.  \n\n\n\nIf you are not able to attend\, we also have a rosette only option that can be mailed for $55\, which includes shipping.
